Dr. Diana Escobar Brandon joined the Hutto Veterinary Clinic in 2015 as a part-time associate, focusing on illnesses in dogs and cats, along with the necessary care to keep them healthy and happy.
Dr. Brandon, our Spanish-speaking vet, comes to the Hutto clinic from a very busy Elgin veterinary practice where she worked for nearly 2 years. Prior to that, she worked for more than 4 years at the Banfield vet clinics in Austin. She also has worked as a relief veterinarian at several clinics in the Austin/West Lake areas.
A native of Cali, Colombia, in South America, Dr. Brandon came to the Round Rock area as a foreign exchange student in the late 1990s. She returned to work as a veterinary assistant in Elgin, then as an assistant at a clinic in Cedar Park.
She graduated from a Colombian veterinary university in 2002, and became licensed to practice in the United States in 2009.
She is married to an equine veterinarian who is part owner of a large-animal practice in Elgin and the couple has 2 children, a boy and a girl, ages 3 and 5. They also have 2 dappled Dachshunds, Jake, 8, the swimmer, and Annie, 7; and a Beagle, Sissy, 8.
Dr. Brandon became passionate about veterinary medicine through her father, who was a veterinarian and researcher. Her father-in-law, and brother- and-sister-in-law, are all vets in Louisiana.
While Dr. Brandon loves everything about companion animals, she has a special interest in internal medicine and feline medicine.
When she’s not spending time with her family and her husband’s family, she enjoys scuba diving.
